Texas County Death Records

Texas has 254 counties, each with its own county clerk who maintains local death records. The county clerk is the primary local source for certified copies of death certificates for deaths that occurred within that county. Standard fees across Texas are $21 for the first certified copy and $4 for each additional copy ordered at the same time. Death records from the past 25 years are restricted to immediate family members and qualified applicants. Records older than 25 years are open to the public. Select a county below to find the clerk's contact information, office address, phone number, and local resources for death records in that area.
